Is Truth Relative?
When we thought things couldn't be any worse, there came Post-Modernism. This is the basic assumptions of enlightenment rationality is questioned, whiles objective truth is rejected. According to this worldview, *all truth is relative.*
Truth is that which conforms to reality. Two main traits of truth is exclusivity and absoluteness.
*Exclusive* because truth eliminate all other alternate options and opinions.
*Absolute* because it's certain, completely perfect, unqualified, intrinsic; not relative.
Some truths include:
1. Gravity exists.
2. Blood is red.
3. Living people breathe.
Truth may however be subjective. That is, something may be true in an individual's life whiles the same is false in another individual's life. For instance, I may be married whiles you're not. Hence, it's true I'm married, yet, the same is not true for you cos you're not married.
Truth may also be non-universal. That is, some things may be true in other places, and false in other places. For example, in Africa, people are mostly dark skinned. Yet in Europe, people are mostly light skinned.
That notwithstanding, the post-modern worldview is simply false.
*One cannot sacrifice truth at the altar of respect. To be sure, truth doesn't eliminate respect. But respect should not be an end in itself. And as you well know, truth is no respecter of persons.*
```Ravi Zacharias```
The ultimate quest of man is the search for truth. Jesus said, "I Am The Truth."
